The book deals with the sub-national
political and administrative reforms in two
countries of the “classical continental
European” state tradition, Germany and France,
over a period of twenty years. The author shows
that similar reform discourses in both countries
lead to very different results and that they
interfere with each other, often within the
national context. The book fills a gap in
comparative politics and management research and
contributes to the evaluation of institutional
politics.
