  • 1993: Ph.D. in economics, University of Bayreuth, Germany.

  • 1996: “Habilitation” in economics, University of Bayreuth, Germany.

  • 10/1996 – 09/1997: Professor of Economics (one-year deputyship), Technical University of Ilmenau, Germany.

  • 10/1997 – 03/1999: Professor of Transport Economics and Policy (18-months deputyship), Technical University of Dresden, Germany.

  • 04/1999 – 06/1999: Associate Professor of Economics, University of Bayreuth, Germany.

  • 02/2000-09/2004: Professor of  International Economics, University of Bremen,  Germany.

  • 10/2004 – today: Professor of Economics, Economic and Transport Policy, Deutsche Universität für Verwaltungswissenschaften, Speyer, Germany.

 

In addition, shorter periods as visiting researcher/professor were spent at Aichi University (Toyohashi, Japan), Shanghai Maritime University (Shanghai , P.R. of China) and Indiana University (Bloomington, USA).

Publications:

I published six monographies so far, exclusively in German (topic areas: postal and delivery service liberalisation, telecommunications deregulation, international trade and the environment) plus a total of 105 articles in journals and discussion papers, mostly in German.
