Pre-Semester
Activities
About 6
weeks before the official start of the semester, all those accepted for a
course of study will be mailed some important information on the so-called
"Exposé-Verfahren" (a procedure developed to allow lecturers to
allocate autonomously about one half of their courses' capacity on the
basis of a brief exposition from each prospect stating the reasons for
his/her application for admission to the seminar and/or study group in
question. The remaining places will be assigned by lot), on how to find a
lodging in Speyer and, of course, they are sent the curriculum.
They
will be told the website address where they can find the annotated
calendar providing the forthcoming semester's schedule with full details
along with useful hints and accompanying commentaries.
Right
upon the official start of the semester, during the so called 'orientation unit', all the lecturers will introduce themselves to the students and will outline
their courses.
