Admission requirements Admission to the University's courses is restricted to graduates of law, economics, history or sociology. Any other applicants who have passed equivalent examinations, thus qualifiying for a career in public administration, may be accepted too, sometimes, however, subject to some addditional requirements. In either case, it will be necessary to verify, if the applicants' qualifications are equivalent to a German degree. To this end, the "Zentralstelle für ausländisches Bildungswesen", ZAB (Central Office for Foreign Education) is requested to provide an evaluation. Additionally, all prospective foreign students need to have as much command of the German language, both orally and in writing, as necessary to cope with academic standards. So, they will have to take either the "Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang DSH" (German Language Proficiency Test), which is set and held by the University itself, or the so-called "TestDaF" (Test in German as a foreign language for student applicants), which is held three times a year at certain Test Centres in their home countries. For detailed information, click www.daad.de, or www.testdaf.de (the latter in German only). Graduates from universities of applied science (Fachhochschulen) cannot be accepted. |
